This Mega rarity was on Blorenge Mountain, near Abergavenny in June 2010. This is only the fourth or fifth record for Britain. Breeds only on Corsica and Sardinia, this 1st summer male bird was way off course on a mountain in Wales. It stayed for almost three weeks and attracted hundreds of birders from all over the UK. | (Contains 3 photos)
This first summer bird, a first for Breconshire and only the third for Wales, was found on the River Usk, near Brecon, on 5th June 2008. It would have caused a large twitch but it only stayed for one day. |
