Clouded Yellow.

In addition to Hummingbird hawk-moths and Painted Ladies this summer there have been good numbers of Clouded Yellow butterflies in this area, which is unusual. These butterflies can be seen on grasslands usually and are quite mobile, but today there was one in our garden feeding on the Verbena. What an attraction for insects this plant is and I would recommend anybody who likes insects to plant some.



I managed to capture some images of these beautiful butterflies; they are at their most colourful when in flight.
