Northern Carmine Bee Eater

A large Bee eater of the open savannah, partial to locusts and grasshoppers. Viewable in most months of the year but can be frustratingly difficult to locate. Close views of these enigmatic birds had been a big target of mine for a number of years. Finally achieved this year thanks to my friend who is a top bird guide in The Gambia.
