Orange Tip, Female

The females rely on camoflage for protection, at rest their moss green and lichen-like wing markings blend in highly effectively with plants like cow parsley and garlic mustard, the latter being one of their principal food sources. They fly very infrequently in the open and they don't need warning markers on their wings.
