The female Kingfisher's lower mandible is a fleshy colour, the males beak is always all black.

Young Kingfishers also have a small white tip to their beaks for the first year.
The best way to age Kingfishers though. is by their feet, young birds have smokey/fleshy coloured feet changing to orange and then red as they age.
